The Tower originally contained five bells cast in 1676, three were recast in 1847 and a new treble added in 1924. (The Peace Bell).

Each Bell bears an inscription and these are as follows.

               Treble.         Te Deum Laudamus  1924

               4             Laudate illum cymbalis sonoris nomen sit

All six bells are hung for full circle ringing and are rung from a ringing chamber up a flight of fifty steps on the first floor of the tower.


The original five bells were restored in 1913,  quarter turned with all new fittings for the cost of £75 !


The church clock which strikes the hours employs  a separate hammer striking the tenor bell.
